Billion Didn't Work!

The attempt to avert an international recession by pumping 700 billion into a few financial houses and the nationalization of some financial institutions and embracing of old, discredited Keynesian economics failed today to avert a world wide economic crisis. You will recall I pointed out that the debt was 5 times larger than the bailout and that was without adding in the world. Tellingly, neither Obama nor McCain had any comment on the crisis, or their role in the failed credit bailout. President Bush said that it would take time to see the effects of the bailouts- presumably he means after he leaves office! Ireland is in a recession, the EU is trying to come up with a plan, the UK will look into cutting interest rates next week. Bullish investors should turn into shrinking violets as the stock market continues its shocking downward spiral, CNBCs Mad Money host Jim Cramer told Ann Curry on TODAY Monday. Why make work even more difficult?
A person at work will normally sit for what, 8 hours a day? Now, do the math- that's an average of 40 per week, 2000 hours a year (take two weeks off!), and 80,000 over a forty year span! Figure that's a minimum. Now why wouldn't you get an office chair which is going to make you more comfortable, as well as take care of your back? Look, there are just a ton of chairs out there, and it can be confusing and pricey, of course! Which chair to get, an 'ergonomic office chair', a leather chair, a conference chair, computer chair.... sheesh! I'll be discussing the different chairs over a period of time, so stick around, learn something and in the meantime, check some of them out here!

A little trip down memory lane...
This whole fasting month was a month of looking back in time for me. During a visit to my parent's last week, and I found pics of my parents waaay back in the 60s and 70s. My Dad looked very handsome - he looked very 'TV hero from the 60s'. And my mum had a tiny waistline, probably half the size of it her current waistline. They made a very good looking couple, I have to say. Then I found pictures of myself in school. I realise that I was quite a vain little thing. In my Primary 2 class picture, I was sitting down, had put both hands on a knee, slanted my body and pouted! What was I thinking! I remember looking over at my classmate - who looked waaaay older than 8 - and she was posing in quite a grown up manner, and I thought to myself, I want to look grown up too. Unfortunately, my pose didnt come out quite the way I wanted it to. :-) Looking at other primary school class photos, it also brought back memories of me being ostracized by my malay classmates. Having a... (more)
